Included in the regular grooming, your pet is bathed,
hand-dried, nails clipped, ears cleaned, and is given
a personalized cut according to your choice and description.
We can also provide flea baths, as well as medicated
or conditioning baths for problem coat and skin.
Some
breeds require frequent brushing between visits. Our
grooming staff is happy to discuss the proper grooming
tools and techniques with you. |
For
your convenience, you may want to schedule routine medical care
on the same day as your grooming appointment. Each
time you pick up your pet, we suggest that you schedule your
next grooming appointment. This will ensure that you receive
preferential scheduling. Please give us 24 hour notice if
you need to change or cancel your appointment.
The
Pet Spa
The Pet Spa is a new, gentle, invigorating
way to cleanse your pet. It is deep-cleaning, and many
pets find it very soothing.
Most
pets can now be bathed without an appointment. It's
perfect for a quick pet cleanup after beach trips, or
any time your pet needs a freshening up. And it's safe,
for pets (and kids!).

Shedding
Driving You Mad?
Try our Shed Less Treatment! Shed
Less is a carefully designed and tested treatment program
for pets that have a shedding problem. Within one to two amazing
treatments, your pet's coat will be relieved of 60% to 80%
of "dead" and unwanted shedding hair while between
regular grooming visits! As you already know, the elimination
of this unwanted hair is not only time consuming for the pet
parent, but also VERY messy and, when done professionally,
can be expensive. The Shed Less Treatment is very affordable.
Just
what does this extra treatment consist of? In the Harmony
Grooming Salon, we use a "steady stream or needle spray"
power attachment to wash and separate your pet's coat hair.
Circulation, stimulation and basic massage techniques are
then used with a special rubber mitt while applying an ALL
NATURAL shampoo. This special shampoo on your pet's coat and
skin is left on your pet and timed. Thorough rinsing and conditioning
are next. At this point, a high velocity hair dryer is used
to separate and eliminate excess coat inch by inch. The last
step in our process is brushing, combing and the final unique
Shed Less carding technique applied to your pet's coat using
special grooming industry tools. Conditioner and/or cologne,
if you choose for your pet to have it, finish this very special
treatment. Your pet will look and feel better and
will love this extra attention.
There
are a few additional things to know and remember after your
pet has had a Shed Less Treatment. FIRST, your pet's hair
follicles will be disturbed up to 24 hours after Shed Less,
and you may notice some shedding. SECOND, when a pet is excited
to see his or her owner, natural "stress shedding"
can occur. Therefore, after the first 24 hours, your pet's
coat will "settle down" and show a remarkable Shed
Less appearance... along with your home!
Call
and ask our groomers to schedule your pet's Shed Less Treatment.
Good
for Your Pet's Health
Regular grooming is essential to your pet's good health. It
should start in puppy or kittenhood so your pet learns to
accept and even enjoy it. Grooming involves coat brushing
and care, but at Harmony Animal Hospital's Distinctive Pet
Grooming it also includes attention to ears, eyes, teeth,
mouth and feet. We can also provide special medicated baths
as well as flea baths and dips. The benefits of proper grooming
include:
•
Fewer skin, eye and ear problems
• More Effective external parasite control
• Fewer shedding problems
• Fewer unsightly, malodorous mats
• Earlier detection of potential health problems
(parasites, lumps, ear and eye infections, dental disease,
weight loss or gain, and abnormal coat conditions)
• Acclimation to handling |

We
recommend getting your puppy used to grooming at an early
age. To do this, stand him on a table for short periods of
time while gently and calmly brushing him. Talk to him, praise
him and reward him for standing quietly. Always make it fun.
Distractions and rewards work better than reprimands. Do it
often and increase the length of time gradually until he's
standing quietly for his brushing.
We're
happy to help you learn the proper methods of coat care and
the tools that will make the job easier. Sign up for
our Dog Grooming Seminar held on a regular basis.
