Photo Contest Rules

Photo Submission Guidelines
(Voting rules are listed below)

By entering the Pet Photo Contest you are agreeing to the following guidelines and rules:

All photos become the property of Harmony Animal Hospital and may be used in other media.

All photos must be either emailed or snail-mailed on disk. We cannot accept hard copies. (Your local print shop can scan your photo for you.)

For your entry to be accepted, you must include the following information in the body of your email. If anything is missing, your email will be deleted and you will need to resubmit with all listed information.
1) Your full name;
2) Your pet's name (and the names of all pets or people in the photo);
3) A suggested caption to reflect something the subject of the photo might say.
4) Your email address.

Please list "Pet Photo Contest" on the subject line

Your entry must be a photo taken by you. No professionally taken photos will be accepted (goes into effect starting the March/April 2004 contest).

All photos must be in focus and of good quality (brightness and contrast) to be useable.

Acceptable photo formats are limited to jpg, gif, bmp, or tif.

You cannot enter more than one photo per year (unfortunately, we lack the space due to sheer volume of entries).

Only one photo per family is accepted, so please choose your favorite. If you send more than one, the contest editor will either make the choice or delete all.

The last day for photos to be accepted into the next contest is two weeks prior to the start of that contest, or when 102 entries are received, whichever comes first. If your photo arrives too late, or the entries have closed, it will be held for a future contest if room allows.

Winning photos will be automatically entered into the year-end Best of the Year contest.

The prize for best photo is a choice of a t-shirt, mug, or mouse pad with the winning picture and your choice of caption. Prize for Best of the Year changes every year. To redeem your prize, please email your name, address, phone number, your pet's name, the caption that you want on your chosen prize, and the contest date that contains your winning entry. If you choose a t-shirt, be sure to include the size. You will receive your prize within 8 to 12 weeks.

Prizes may change without notice.

The rules may be amended at any time.

Voting Rules

By entering the Pet Photo Contest you are agreeing to all of the rules:

We accept only one vote per person and per e-mail address, and per IP address. This means one vote per contest. Sometimes this also means that only one person per family can vote if you share the same computer.
Before clicking the Vote button, make sure that's the one you want; we cannot go back and change your vote.
Harmony retains the free use of all photos that are entered into the contest.
Anyone caught cheating in any way will be booted from the contest. (Hey, this is supposed to be fun, guys.)
The deadline for voting is noon on the final posted day of that contest.
The final decision on the winner and runner-up rests with this editor. If there is any hint of over-voting, tampering, or the use of fake email addresses, that photo will be disqualified.
